History

Floral Punch Craft was created by Leone M Docherty in Rosanna, a Melbourne suburb. Leone's husband, Ern, called her Mary thus EM Designs became their business name by combining the first letter of each name together, Ern & Mary.

In 1998, Leone’s husband had a vision of her writing and sharing with others the wonderful gift of imagination that God has blessed her with. The first Floral Punch Craft book (green cover) is not numbered as Leone said she would not write again. It was released in late August, early September.

 In late 1999, Ern persuaded Leone to think of another book by offering her the same deal she accepted before writing the first. Ern did all the normal household chores leaving Leone free to concentrate on the designs and write.

 March 2000, eighteen months after the first book was launched the second was released. Two books had been written when Ern suddenly died from a brain tumour in September the same year. It had been Ern’s loving encouragement and assistance that published Floral Punch Craft and Floral Punch Craft II. Leone’s daughter, Janine, stepped in to assist and continue Ern’s vision of sharing the magic of Floral Punch Craft with others bringing relaxation and a sense of achievement to those who joined in. The wholesale section was organized by Leone and Janine.

In 2001, with the family’s assistance, Ern’s vision commenced to flourish with interest from overseas for this unique craft. With invitations from an American business interest, Leone made several visits to the USA and commenced designing punches. Floral Punch Craft III, The Video and Floral Punch Craft IV, Forget-me-not and Memories were filmed/published the same year.
